The Anniversary

On the 13th of July 2006 I left Iraq
It’s a year now
A year since I left Iraq
A year I haven’t hugged my mother
A year away from my family and my friends
A year I’m lonely
A year I feel hopeless, worthless and useless.
A year of being lost
A year of feeling low
A year of working hard
A year of doing nothing worthy!
A year of talking a lot
A year I didn’t say something worthy!
A year of being safe
A year of feeling unsafe
A year not being threaten
A year of being worried of dying …alone!
A year I kept looking at my phone….begging it to ring!
A year of missing home
A year of being odd
A year of living sorrow
A year of being weak
A year of thinking; did I do the right thing when I left?
A year of waiting to go back as soon as possible
It doesn’t seem to be soon
A year of being the one who people feel sorry for him
A year is a long time, very long time, yet; it passed
They say the first year is the most difficult one
I wish they’re right; I really doubt it.
After the 1st year, I’m sure that, I don’t want to live another year!

First, let me say thank God for your safety abroad, when I am talking about safety I don't mean from terror only but from any thing abnormal...people's acts, work hazards, racism and so on...

Secondly, you've done so much through your posts, so don't think that you haven't!

Thirdly, instead of wishing not to lie longer thank God for giving you another oportunity to live dear, I know it is far from your parents but still a chance!

Fourthly: Be optimistic always.

Salam from Iraq

Thanks alot for your words.
I agree with what you say and I thank Allah everyday, but as you know, sometimes we just feel congested and we need to screem or to be hugged, unfortunately, I feel so lonely when such moments turn.

I'm used to say Allah kereem
Salam to Iraq and every Iraqi(not anything else)in Iraq and to everyone from Iraq.

Regards
